As an ex holiday rep and a lady who is well travelled I read this title with great scepticism. But the authors sardonic and fast paced style of writing was completely engrossing and I was taken from one page to the next with great humour and refreshing honesty. Some parts do get a little too detailed but that is part and parcel of the success of this book and he really exposes the true meaning of being a holiday rep and living in a country like India. It is so easy to dip into. It is heart warming, sad and very very funny. If you've ever been on holiday or contemplated becoming a rep then this book is a must.

As a former Holiday Rep and Holiday Courier (no idea why author is so hung up on the word 'Courier' since a few holiday companies out there use it!) this book is ok, the author's had a good stab at portraying what the role of a Rep in Goa is like.
There's some really enjoyable bits but I found the negative undertones and rants about management a bit dull after a while. I hope writing this book has been quite cathartic to vent those 'Stelios George' opinions!
Overall, I felt that it needed a few more amusing anecdotes to balance the book out.

If you use or have used a tour operator for your holidays and have ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of the holiday industry this is the book for you, if you ever thought the reps have an easy life and that it is just one big holiday for them think again, it is not, although I never thought it was plain sailing I have a respect for those brave souls in the travel industry now. A exciting, sometimes funny, sad and sometimes downright appalling behaviour by guests, this is one book you will want to read. Enjoy!

What an astonishing read. This book stirred urges I thought were long gone. I am, as a result, booking a second honeymoon.

This book reveals the truths about being a holiday rep that "Ibiza Uncovered" dare not air. It will get your lady gardens tingling I promise.

Ceri will open your eyes to a whole new world. With humor that keeps you turning the pages until late in the night.

Happy reading peeps.

Indian Summer is an amazing read. Can so much really happen in the life of a holiday rep? Especially as they all look like they spend most of the day on the beach... (As an ex-rep I know that's not true...)
This is a brutal, frank and aching funny missive. Full marks to Ceri Stone for putting what is undoubtedly the truest account of life on the job (pun intended)onto paper. READ THIS BOOK! Better still, buy it!

Having been a rep myself (many years) ago.I was immediately drawn into this book.
I spent a lot of time laughing at the all too true situations he describes .
I have the greatest admiration for his moped & car driving on the roads of the most difficult country possible.

A great read especially if you are on holiday & perhaps it will give you some empathy with the ever smiling reps.

An exhilarating and funny read. From the word go the author is upfront and honest and his biting humour had me gasping at the turn of every page. This is a true eye opener in the life of a holiday rep but Ceri Stone won't be doing this anymore because his is an undoubted literary talent. Excellent
