Product Description

Product Description

India describes the main themes in Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and other spiritual traditions, and explores their points of contact with the West. The spiritual heritage of India has become an essential part of Western thinking. A large part of the Indian influence in the West is due to its spirituality - the religious leaders and gurus have brought messages that have made a lasting impression. This concise and beautifully illustrated paperback gives due weight to Indian teachings and influence at a time when greater understanding of the Indian culture is evolving.

This review is from: India: The Cultural Companion (Paperback)
This beautifully illustrated book explains quite difficult Indian philosophy ideas in a very clear way. Although written for beginners it will give enough basic information to get a good insight into Indian culture and thought. A fantastic book to read as preparation for a trip to India.
