Well spotted! And it should be Undomie(l) and Osgiliath should only have one "l".
I've also just noticed that Disc 2 has "The Sacrifice of Faramir" as Track 4 and "The Parting of Sam and Frodo" as Track 5. Shouldn't it be the other way around? It was in the movie! The list on www.soundtrack.net also has it in this order. Mmmm . . . ?
Here's a recent quote from Doug Adams, the author of the liner notes:
"...the sequencing on the album represents the film's structure at the time Shore scored it (save for Sissel's piece). So when questions arise regarding 'why is scene X before scene Y on this album?' it's because that's how the film was originally edited and that's how it was scored..."
Interesting - but where did Doug Adams say that? Because I've been searching the net for the last couple of weeks for anything I can find relating to the liner notes of "The Return of the King - The Complete Recordings", but to no avail.
It just seems strange that the music on the Complete Recordings would play exactly as it does in the Extended DVD Editions, and then Howard would make one exception in the middle of "The Return of the King". It's just odd, that's all.
This is a message board thread that Adams has been posting to since before the Fellowship set was released. He gives fairly regular updates on the behind-the-scenes work going on for the releases and also answers questions. The thread is restarted after every thirty pages so if you're looking for older information, go to the first post and you'll find a link to the old thread.
Adams will also be doing a special Q&A podcast for Film Score Monthly just before the release and this will be available on: http://preview.tinyurl.com/398cre This site has the podcasts for the previous releases also.
