Product Description

Inception: The Shooting Script is, along with the script itself a source of my drafts, graphics from the film and an exclusive interview.

From the Author

Me and Jonah (Nolan) wanted to give the fans something that they could keep and read and also some extra stuff that you can't put on a DVD. So there is an interview that Jonathan did with me where we discuss some things about Inception and the concept, and also some of my early drafts of the dream levels.

Okay, if you've seen this film, you'd have already realized by now how utterly astonishing it is. Ergo, even after seeing it at the cinema twice, the script still reads as fast and as exciting as if you were reading it for the first time. It's proof that the world's best director (in my opinion) is at the top of his game, creating truly original and inspiring work that respects its audience.

It is, of course, a great read, allowing you to look at how Christopher Nolan pieced together the puzzle that is Inception. It's a shooting script but is more or less the same as the final film, though it does have some minor details that a true fan of the film should take interest in. Plus, the small interview between Nolan and his brother, Jonathan, is an interesting look into the mind of the director and his thought processes making the film. And the other small elements are nicely done. (Examples of storyboards show the development process a little further, and a faux instruction manuel for the dream device only helps you appreicate the hard work put into the film further.)

Otherwise, it could be improved by more! A bit like 'The Art of The Dark Knight' book that really gave you a depth to the process as a whole. Maybe one day...

Until then, thank you, Chris... I cannot wait to see what you do next!

A dream of a script 21 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Those who buy movie scripts are usually a very specialist people as many don't see the appeal in owning a script you can read as opposed to watching a movie instead and admittedly I was doubtful as this was the first movie script I bought. However I was surprised by how interesting it is to delve into the world of the movie before it was immortalized on screen. You get a clear idea of how Christopher Nolan's amazing mind works as well as the various script-writers and if anything, instead of detracting the pleasure from the dream-spanning adventure it will make you appreciate the incredible movie even more.

This was my husband's favorite Christmas present that I gave him. I also bought him the collectors edition of the movie, so it went well together. It was a good price and it arrived right after I purchased it.
