Product Description

Product Description

Since the ages before time was measured, the angelic races have existed. Unseen by our eyes, they move through creation, shaping our world, sustaining our existence, and battling demonic hordes. But the war is changing; the battle lines are expanding into new frontiers and the next epoch is emerging.

Seven hundred years after the first humans were exiled from their home, their descendants have pushed eastward into a prehistoric wilderness. In a land shrouded by mist and superstition, primitive tribes struggle to establish new civilizations, unaware that their world is about to change forever.

Weary from unceasing conflict, Sariel—legendary warrior of the Myndarym—crosses into the Temporal Realm in search of the only one who can bring him peace. But he is not the first; others have already begun their inhabitation. As the dominance of their kingdom spreads, threatening to engulf all of humanity, Sariel finds himself standing between his own kind and the one he loves and must embrace the life he abandoned in order to secure her freedom.

In this riveting prequel to the Amazon bestselling Awakened series, Jason Tesar sets in motion a sweeping fantasy epic birthed at the very foundations of humanity when our prehistoric world collided with supernatural forces, spawning an age of mythological creatures and heroes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Prequel to Awakened 17 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is an excellent book, typical of JT it has plenty of depth and the characters almost jump off the page. The plot doesn't hang about either it runs swiftly through events and is well paced. I now need to go back and read the Awakened series again...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Joy to read. Accomplished. 28 Jan 2013

I was looking forward to this book, ever since I read the Awakened series ( 3 weeks ago ) & after reading the review on this site. I fully concur with that review, and now I am just hoping that my expectations aren't to high, as I cant wait to find out how everything came about.

I will say first off that it took me a few chapters to get into the story. Mostly this was due to the fact that there are a lot of words, terms that the Author would like to explain. By that I mean a lot of words in the Kindle Edition have links to the glossary, and in the first few chapters I do mean a lot. Now I don't look at the glossary until the end as this gives a better flow to the story, plus you can generally come to an understanding of the word/term the more you read, so even though its hard, don't let this phase you.

Once past this the whole thing is a joy to read, the descriptions of the world and its associated dimensions are done well, his take on the what I presume was the 'Book of Enoch' for inspiration and how this world is built, how humans and the spiritual beings work in their own world and in each others appears effortless, when in-fact it is quite complex, was inspired. The spiritual beings world and the way it works for me was well thought out, written and explained well.

It was a definite twist for me to see who the innocents were in this, and how the author took you down paths you didn't expect. I definitely wanted to see how Sariel came about, which you did but my favourite character was Enoch which pleasantly surprised me, but watching his progress was exciting, so well done.

The writing in this series for me was just as good as The Awakened, his ability to create a believable world and keep track of multiple threads is second to none, and I do like the detail that has been provided. This is definitely a world that is here to stay, with a large amount of thought going into its development & back story. It has me looking forward to the next in the series, both for the reasons above plus the ending was unexpected, & I expect that the characters development and the storyline, will not go down the path I expect.

Even with the slightly annoying links in the Kindle Edition, I would still give this 5 stars.

Loved the book. He's the new JK Rowling in my opinion. His books are written really well, couldn't put this down and can't wait for next volume. This book has everything I like, suspense, danger, a bit of romance to keep it going.
