Product Description

Product Description

Daniel Torridon suffers from Bipolar disorder, also known as Manic Depression. This incurable mental illness was triggered by sexual abuse as a child, relentless bullying at school, and mental and spiritual abuse later in adult life. Through his poetry, Daniel lays bare the scars that have contributed to who he is today. “In Two Minds — 50 Short Poems” is unapologetic and brutally honest in its portrayal of life through the eyes of a Bipolar sufferer and a survivor of abuse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Gifted Poet 1 Jan 2014

I want you to know from the start that I do not know the author but I have downloaded this book from Kindle simply because it was free and I share the author's diagnosis of Bipolar. This does not mean that I also share the author's experiences of bipolar, which is why I would like to say that I have never read poetry that seems to speak to me in the same way as Daniel Torridon's poetry. It is honest, humble, heartfelt and an offering which explores the illness through faith, hope and love.
I love reading poetry, however, I have not enjoyed reading poetry from someone with bipolar disorder as much as I have done reading this book. I wholeheartedly recommend these poems to you. They may well provide you with additional strength when you need it most.
Thank you Mr Torridon for being brave enough to expose your poetry to a world-wide audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read 26 Feb 2014

As a writer I wish I had wrote "I Am Not Of This Crowd" and "Implosion" myself. Everyone who suffers with with depression should make their friend read "Whats The Difference?" as I believe it will help overcome the 'stigma'. In fact, if you have a friend who suffers with depression and want to understand them better, then read this book.

These are (mostly) short poems, but they manage to say a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding poetry 5 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book of poetry is deeply moving. Insights into the unique perspective of the author, not only artistically but mentally, are revealed in every poem, sweet, bitter, light, dark, but above all engaging. You come away from each having been on an emotional journey in just a few words. It would not be possible to pay homage to each and every piece in this review, but of particular note is the scientific and factual "What's the Difference?" affording greater insight into Bipolar, and "Armageddon in my Head" resonates beautifully to create greater understanding. "Be Me - I Dare Thee" lays down the challenge, and by reading this and all the other poems, you discover how difficult a challenge it is.

I thoroughly recommend this to all, and sincerely hope he will publish more poetry soon.
