One of Mesh's earlier albums, and like all the others it is absolutely superb!! They can't seem to do anything wrong - strong vocals, lyrics, synths and hooks. And boy can they programme drum machines!

It's seriously sad that this band are not well known, if you like anything electronic buy all their CD's. They're british too!!

This band just gets better and better... 15 Aug. 2002
By okb1068 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
...with each successive album. On this, their second disk, Mesh continues to travel the darker strata. This band consistantly stikes resonant chords of lust, rage, angst and loneliness.
Before I'd even heard their work, I'd read a brief description of their sound as Depeche Mode meets NIN. In hindsight, i'd say more the former than the latter but really, Mesh has carved out their own distinct sound.
Like so many darkwave/synthpop bands out there it's a shame that
this music can't be found on the radio or on MTV. Instead we're treated to a neverending stream of pap. Perhaps it's for the better, as it is Mesh and the rest (the Nine, Iris, Blind Passengers, Beborn Beton, Static Icon, etc) remain a treasured secret worth sharing.
Favorite tracks: 'Confined', 'I don't think they know', and 'Something wrong'.

Absolutely Shattering! 1 Dec. 1999
By eri_chan@hotmail.com - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is Mesh's second release and in it they explore more fully what they only hinted at on their first release, "Fragile." This album is nothing less than a landmark album of edgy, straight-from-the-heart, industrial-synthpop. The feeling Mesh expresses throughout is so real, so translucent, and so honest, that it is hard not to be moved by the whole experience the is "ITPF." There are times when the music becomes harsh and gritty-sounding. Then there are the moments when beautiful melodies stream in and change the whole landscape of the music. All of this is dependent to the emotions and passions currently being dealt out in each individual song. Also, it would be a shame not to mention the poigniant, yet gorgeous, lyrics which permeate everything. They put most bands to shame in this area of writing. All-in-all, this is one release that is important, both musically and emotionally. Get it.

MESH in this place forever! 21 Jan. 2003
By Christopher Vaughn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
In the last two years of the 80's I was moved by a hardly known vocal talent that of Dean Russell. As the lead singer for MOEV he made the then crossover industrial sound very emotional and aesthetic without being "overly" harsh. It was probably my last favorite 80's act. MESH not related in any way had that aesthetic for the 90's and now the new millennium and have made amazing crossover electro. This was the first album I listened to and was immediately moved by the structure of the piece (I consider each of their albums a themed piece of work). This is one intelligent and very well crafted album. Plan to be taken on an emotive and enjoyable journey. Just EXCELLENT.

When the Future still warrants the Past 5 Aug. 2010
By TorridlyBoredShopper - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Mesh is one of those bands that makes you want to return to their roots. They have everything you need; the electronics are great, the moods ar emoving (and normally revolve around loss, anger, and sadness), and the vocals are superb. I remember hearing them a long time ago and then seeing them live; both experiences were way beyond what I thought I knew about music.
It just seems to get better.

With this album, I found my first introduction and quite a few great songs. Even now, some ten years later, the album has done quite well for itself. The beats still work out, the vocals are not distorted so they do not need a change and they have no flair that needs to be remixed. It all seems to simply come from the experiences of the heart. When the band compared influences they noted a lot of the Syth bands of the 80s, and you can hear that in some of their stuff. That is great, too, because it is a grand cornerstone for a lot of what EBM and electronica is.

Check out Mesh and see what you think. you might want to go new and then go backward, but you might find that this band is not that way at all. Their stuff is going out of print rapidly and that is one thing to note, so you might want to find out what you want from the band. Persoanlly, I go back through my catalog and find so much worthwhile music; if you have yet to try out this band and many other Metropolis Records signees, you should .

My favorite Band of all time 2 Oct. 2004
By Harold Corbin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I've been a big fan of all types of music, and can list AC/DC, Depeche Mode, Alphaville, The Scorpions, Boston, Styx, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails as some of my favorites. I was gaining more interest in the underground synthpop scene a few years ago and bought a sampler CD that contained a single by Mesh. I was so stunned by one of their songs, that I was convinced to buy one of their albums immediately (which I NEVER DO). It turns out that I thought all of the songs were awesome... yet very different on each track. I wanted more, so I bought 2 more CD's within a couple of weeks. Now I have every album they have recorded, and I must say that this band has a great blend of what I like most... powerful vocals and lyrics, strong guitars and drums, with a bit of keyboards and melody to make it interesting. Try the song samples, and if you like what you hear you'll love the album. Once you've tried one, you'll want them ALL.
