Product Description

20th Anniversary Edition of one of the most influential albums in metal. Emperors debut full length album, which set a new standard in extreme metal and has been the benchmark ever since, was released to universal acclaim in 1994. This is the album that introduced classical elements to the black metal sound and first made a wider audience take the genre seriously. Two decades later, it is still the album seen by many as the pinnacle of its kind, and has influenced an uncounted number of bands. This anniversary edition is presented in deluxe hardback Digibook packaging with restored cover artwork and featuring rare archive pictures and content. The In The Nightside Eclipse line-up will be re-uniting to perform the album in its entirety as headline artists at summer festivals across Europe, coinciding with the release of this edition: 7th June, Sweden Rock Festival (Sweden) 22nd June, Hellfest Open Air Festival (France) 29th June, Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (Finland) 1st 2nd August, Wacken Open Air (Germany) 9th August, Bloodstock Festival (UK)

If you're an Emperor fan a special edition is reason enough for you to blow your money on an album you likely already own 17 Dec. 2014

This is more or less the second time I've bought this album. The first time was a reissue that I also have ripped on itunes. Playing each song back to back there's a noticeable difference in sound quality. I'd consider Emperor one of the best produced Norwegian black metal around during its time so I was a little skeptical about how the sound quality of "In the Nightside Eclipse" could have been improved. There's an interview included in the booklet from Decibel Magazine from December 2005 celebrating the the 10th anniversary of the album. The second disc is a little bit of a waste. Its just outtakes and alternative takes from the original recording. Only the most hardcore fans would be interested. I just wish they had added and remastered material from their previous demos instead. But it does contain the entire "As the Shadows Rise" EP on the first disc which is a treat as I hadn't heard anything from that before.
I think this album sounds better twenty years later 23 April 2015

A masterpiece in the world of black metal. Incredible artwork. I think this album sounds better twenty years later. A must have for an emperor fan, or any fan of the black metal genre. It simply doesn't get any better than this.

I love Emperor, my 2nd fave Norwegian Black Metal band, after Satyricon. This is a good album, but I like the next 3 better. Awesome packaging.

This is the version of this album I have been waiting for! Emperor is the band that got me into black metal, and this CD is the reason why.

In the Nightside Eclipse Remastered 7 July 2014
By Mr. T - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a must have for all fans of Emperor. You get 2 cd's of remastered songs off of In the Nightside Eclipse, Emperor
Ep, and Wrath of the Tyrant. The songs never sounded so better, I could listen to these cd's all day. Emperor was and
still are, one of the best Norweigan BM bands that ever existed. This year, Emperor have been touring and playing
"In the Nighside Eclipse" album in its entirety. I've never had the chance to see them live, it's great to see them
touring again with original drummer Faust. It's too bad there's no plans for a new Emperor album. In the Nightside
Eclipse are one of my all-time favorite BM albums of all-time, to have it remastered is a special treat. I just
hope that Emperor will one day release a new album. All hail the Mighty Emperor!
