What can you say? This takes me back. I saw the Dogs at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh too many years ago. They were unbelievable. This re-mastered version retains a lot of the original's charm. Crank it up, sit back and enjoy. Awesome!

A blast from the past showing Tyla and the lads at their peak . Rock and roll as it should be played.

Raw, fun, glammy hard rock 22 Mar. 2014
By Justin G. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
1988’s In the Dynamite Jet Saloon was the second release by UK glam metal act The Dogs d’Amour, a bluesy, pub-rocking version of the Hollywood hair metal bands like L.A. Guns and Pretty Boy Floyd. They certainly looked the part, and their lyrics definitely stuck with the “sex, drugs and rock n’ roll” themes that were so dominant from that scene.

This is one of the most straightforward, least complicated albums around. The Dogs sound like they crawled in from the pub to record these songs and went straight back to drinking and rocking when they finished. Which is fine; not everything needs to sound like Long Cold Winter or Hysteria. There’s a ton of charm in these booze-soaked, blues-inflected anthems to debauchery. You get a bit of a Junkyard and maybe Tangier vibe on occasion, but for the most part it’s straight-up Hanoi Rocks meets early Aerosmith. It’s sleazy, sometimes sloppy, but always fun.

In the Dynamite Jet Saloon is never going to make anyone’s “essential albums” list, even by ‘80s hair metal standards, but it is a hell of a lot of fun, and ought to satisfy fans of Junkyard, Hanoi Rocks, Tygertailz, Faster Pussycat and the like. Grab another pint and turn it up!

Wonder 20 Nov. 2008

This is one of the best cd's i ever had..

It didnt really bite hard on my at first, i was simply im the mood for some harder rock.

But then i gave another listen and it blew me away, i LOVE the lyrics Tyla writes, and i really like his vocals.

The bass is great, the drums are great and the guitar even better.

The album has a blues/country thing to it if you ask me.
And i really like that.. It's just great.. 5 Stars
