This superb book is something of an unfolding family mystery story. The unexpected saga of the famous song 'Danny Boy' is intermingled with the parallel tales of its librettist and 3 of his less fortunate brothers, their wives and, particularly 2 of his granddaughters. Well written with several interesting photos, anyone who has ever sung or enjoyed Danny Boy will want to own a copy. Very reasonably priced too.

If Mr Mann should read this review, I would be very happy for him to contact me. I wonder whether there is anything in writing concerning Fred and Elsie.
