Product Description

After two years off the air, this sixth and final series of the classic Alf Garnett comedy series was broadcast in 1992. It finds the miserly old whinger, having endured a lifetime of poverty, finally becoming rich. So is he is happy with his new-found wealth? Of course not, it’s Alf! With just his Irish mate Michael and the devout Mrs Hollingbery for company, life is the same old uphill struggle for the curmudgeonly pensioner – only brightened by the news of Mrs Johnson running away with another woman! But, when he finally agrees to move an old wardrobe, Alf is amazed to find a large stash of banknotes.

The old git is about to discover how the other half live – and, thankfully, there is plenty to moan about. Like the problems of being rich in a crime-ridden area, a visit from his batty old neighbour Min and finding out the Inland Revenue are even worse than the DHSS!

Superb climax to a superb series. Wonderfully acted by all. Well worth waiting for. The fantastic Warren Mitchel as Alf Garnett at his very best. Laughs all the way. What a shame this is the last we saw of him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Irreverent Warren Mitchell 11 Feb 2013

Just loved it - laughted out loud. The language you couldn't use today without some outcry. He says much of what we all want to say about County Councillors (poor unappreciated lot!) I just love to take out this DVD when I read of all the discontent in the newspaper. Buy it for a laugh and to remind yourself Alf Garnett was/is with you all the way !!!!

This is comedy that the PC brigade have denied us for too long.
Although today would be considered too offensive Alf always gets his
cummupence.
Oh how I miss a decent sit com on TV, definitely a six star rating
