5.0 out of 5 stars A little jem! 17 Sep 2013
By Megan T
Bought this for my parents wedding anniversary, as a 'stocking filler' if you like. It is simply absolutely brilliant. As someone of a younger/ mid generation, I found all the facts and information fascinating. Horlicks is old!!! My parents however, (who have just turned 60) spent a large part of the film dancing on the sofa! My dad loved the trucks you got in cereal packets, and my mum started screaming when she saw the tokens from Robinsons Marmalade.
I can not recommend this film enough. What a fantastic little find I came across when I discovered this film. Even delivery was quick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Nostalgia 2 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase
For 2 hours you can you have your own personal time machine when you watch this DVD.
A fantastic nostalgic trip told through packaging of classic discontinued products from cleaning materials to confectionery and lots more, and the amazing history of some of today's best loved products.
This is actually more emotional than It's A Wonderful Life.
Presented by the wonderfully enthusiastic Robert Opie, who runs the excellent Museum of Brands and Packaging in London.

I loved everything about this dvd. The delivery was prompt and the quality was excellent. The amount of work to create this dvd was amazing. It was presented well, and I loved every minute of it. I would recommend it to anyone. A great buy. Im looking to purchase some of Robert Opie's books now.

Loved it - so many memories, and one or two debates settled. Excellently put together and, as a result, a fascinating trip into the past. Can't believe how much I'd forgotten from here, but how great it was being reminded. Recommended for anyone 50+.
Slip the DVD in...bottle of wine, bowl of popcorn and two or three Sanatogen - who could want for more.

Bought it for my wife and was lucky enough to meet the director. What a smashing guy.

5.0 out of 5 stars FASCINATING STROLL THROUGH TIME. 8 May 2014
Verified Purchase
I would strongly recommend to all ages as there is pretty much something for everybody.
I have been lucky enough to visit the actual museum in person but in some ways this dvd is even better as in a way it goes more in depth.
I probably learnt more in these 2 hours than I have in the past 2 years.
Amazing how viewing these long forgotten products from the past can evoke so many good memories.
Fascinating and in my opinion essential viewing!

2.0 out of 5 stars BORING!
Not what I was expecting, purchased this for an elderly friend but I doubt if she will sit through it. I've only watched 10 minutes and that was quite enough.

Bought for a Memory Cafe use. Continuous style with. Constant commentary meant this was almost impossible to use with those with dementia. Disappointing

Spent the entire two hours saying things like 'god do you remember....' and 'Oh I haven't seen those in year...' its very entertaining and well researched. Well worth the money.
