5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning! 27 Jun 2014
By Trev
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I only discovered Shulman a week ago and this is my first purchased album by them. Absolutely incredible stuff to blast out on a decent sound system. Unlike some other mindscape/chillout music, Shulman tracks are not overly repetitive. Each track enters different phases over their duration sending the imaginative mind onto an incredible journey to a place in which there are no budget restraints on special effects. I will be ordering the rest of their albums and have already ordered three other titles by them.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best 31 May 2010
By FaTHoM - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Ok. I am a huge fan of music. However, I am terribly picky, as I am about everything in my life, which in turn sometimes makes my life much more difficult. I was looking around on Amazon one day for some new music, and I spotted these guys. I was like, alright these guys are rad. So I Dl'ed the 4 albums and stuck them on my HD and forgot about them. During a very specific induced experience, this amazing music kept playing and I finally HAD to check to see who it was; it was Shulman and Entheogenic, another great group. I was more impressed with Shulman by a long shot though. I have been listening to them for only a year and half solid, but I have never tired of their music. I actually decided to go out and spend several thousand dollars on a new sound system partially because of these guys.

Now for the experience. Listening to these guys is an amazing experience, taking you to different places with each new song. The depth and detail of most of their music is astounding, and is only amplified with a high quality sound system. One thing that I love about their music is that it isn't loopy. I am not a fan of loopy music, but must say that I own plenty only because it passes my test. I can listen to their music in any mood, and at any time of day, and it is always amazing.

I spotted all 4 CD's BRAND NEW on the crappiest resale site ever, starting with an e and ending with Bay for $60 FROM Israel. I was stoked when I opened them to see the 4 CD's. Basically, if you dig psychill, or anything with talent, then I HIGHLY recommend this group. They are hands down amazing, and deserve to have their music recognized.

Favorite song: A Magnificent Void

5.0 out of 5 stars Best thing since Shpongle!!! 21 Mar 2006
By Myriapod - Published on Amazon.com

Bought this album and Shulman's other two albums: "Soundscapes and modern tales" and the most recent "Random thoughts".

All albums are supreme ambient-psytrance excellence (weighted more on the ambience if you know what I mean). I haven't been this impressed since hearing Shpongle's 'Are you shpongled'! In my opinion Shulam takes it to the next level.

There is a strong ethnic element in his music that takes you to other lands and other worlds :) Also some very nice flute :) Buy it and you'll see...

5.0 out of 5 stars My, my, my: what brilliance you have shown 29 Sep 2011

This album is my first introduction to this band. I was quite impressed by their honed technical musical ability. Everything about every one of these songs, although they brilliantly stand apart from one another, is absolutely flawless. It's like they were practiced and practiced to such a degree that it was no longer created but performed by the masters that are Shulman. This is bittersweet though. The sound is beautiful, shocking, entrancing, and shaping but in all of this it falls short. Where it fails is it has been honed so well to such a degree that I feel the very soul was removed from it. Don't get me wrong, I am by no means discrediting them, as I play this album often now since it's a great addition to my collection, but I think in all its beauty it lacks true feeling. Yet, perhaps at some point it had it but when it was mastered so maliciously it may have become fleeting.

Yet as I ramble I must say I was first introduced to this kind of music via a band called Shpongle. I believe that leaves me being more critical about "soul" that I need be. For those who know them, you should understand what I'm saying. If you do not, familiarize yourself. Yet they're definitely added to my top three favorites now: Shpongle, Phutureprimitive, and now Shulman. A worthy purchase and absolutely a 5 star band in this field of music!

5.0 out of 5 stars A sound to infiltrate the soul 2 May 2013
By MO - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Here it is the ultimate music of Shulman where the listener is able to distinguish the clarity of his music with its simplcity, however the creativity of the unknown sound is a very unique experience, his music is poetry without words and only with his instruments,i highly recomend it to anyone out there.
