Brazilian wonderkids DJ Marky & XRS present their debut album; from chart hits, dance-floor smashers, to lounge gems - it's all Brazilian!
DJ Marky and XRS are without doubt two of South America's most high-profile dance music artists. From Sao Paulo, DJ Marky is the deck-master that took the world by storm re-energizing drum'n'bass audiences universally. XRS is the Brazilian studio wizard.
'In Rotation' features an all-star line-up... 'Dia De Sol' collaborates with the Minister for Culture in the Brazilian Government, Gilberto Gil, who lifts the setting into a feel-good frenzy; 'Breeze' features Cleveland Watkiss (one time collaborator with Stevie Wonder); 'Sunshine' (featuring Jenna G from Un-Cut) provides a backdrop worthy of sitting under an Amazon waterfall; 'Moments Of Lust' features Vikter Duplaix, the Philly soulster who's CV boosts working with Eryka Badu and Jazzy Jeff; and not forgetting 'LK' (featuring Stamina MC) which actually is an "accident of a tune" - the culmination of messing around in the studio!
DJ Marky and XRS prove drum'n'bass can capture mainstream minds whilst fully maintaining credibility on the street.

But I will! This album is absolute class. Superb production, innovative quality tracks a real gem standing out in a sea of often generic and boring drum and bass albums. But it today you will be playing this one for years...

This album contain a collection of tracks which needs to be listened to whilst chilling in the sun or firing up a BBQ. Unlike previous DJ Marky&XRS albums, it is not seamlessly mixed and therefore may not enstill nostalgic moments of being in a hot sweaty club when 'it goes off'. However these are good tracks. The up-tempo beats coupled together with the phat basslines ,and ofcourse that magical brazilian element, makes this an album you will bounce along to. Its hard not to. All-in-all, A great album to represent the summer.

An excellent piece by DJ Marky & XRS, this is an album many who know their work have been craving for. A wonderful collection of soothing and catchy tunes. From the opening track HIGHLIGHTS to TIJUANA FROGS and the resounding ROTATION this album really delivers. Perfect to unwind to after a heavy session in the club. As chilled as LTJBukem and as catchy as Zinc, it is an essential colection for all you D'n'B lovers. Likewise for those just getting into the scence, IN ROTATION will break you in perfectly.

debut album from brasillian drum n bass superheros 2 Aug. 2004
By The Sesh - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Finally, Marky & XRS have released their first album unto the world of drum n' bass. This isn't an album full of raging anthems of course, it's more along the lines of the groundbreaking "New Forms" released in 1997 by Roni Size and Reprezant. If you can dig this more accessible approach to drum n'bass then you wont have a problem loving this album.

My only complaint is that the album is unmixed, and I prefer my drum n bass mixed. However, it works in it's own way, not to mention it is the best proper musical album out of the drum n' bass scene since 2001's Desert Rose by the infamous DJ SUV.

The tracks are very soulful throughout, though not necessarily complex with the drum work. The so called brasillian sound is strong on some and not as strong on others, but present thru spirit throughout the album. No one will be disappointed by this album, and if you are in search of quality sounding drum n'bass that's intelligent but doesnt put you to sleep and can be played in your headphones or at the club, then IN ROTATION is essential to your record collection.
Pretty Decent 21 Jun. 2007

This was your typical album, rather than a continuous mix. I prefer the latter, but hearing the individual songs made me learn how often other DJs use these songs in their mixes. The duo may have put their best foot forward: the best songs came near the beginning. The inner pages of the booklet have many photos of the musicians with friends and partygoers. I think they want to remind listeners that their music may be designed for raves and their attendees. Still, it's not really necessary. When I listen to music, I don't ask myself, "Do the musicians have lots of friends and other fans?" This wasn't the DnB that blows my mind away, however, I enjoyed this disc. If you want some decent DnB, you might as well get this. I wasn't disappointed by this purchase in the least. In fact, I wish the duo the best.
