This album puts me in a good mood whenever I listen to it and could be described as a catchy energetic musical pick me up. Home Sweet Home, Shuffle and Hitten are probably my favourite tracks, with Home Sweet Home in particular having the potential to have been a decent sized hit if only the radio playlisters in the UK had taken a chance on it (the radio mix edit even dropped the overly long intro, making it ideal playlist material).

There seem to have been numerous comparisons made so far between Those Dancing Days and other artists, so in keeping with that theme Home Sweet Home reminds me of The Wonder Stuff's Never Loved Elvis album. The Hammond organ in particular gives the song a similar summery happy vibe to it and although the rest of the album isn't quite in the same league as Never Loved Elvis, it's still nevertheless a really good album filled with catchy indie pop songs.

Rainbows in a speaker 2 April 2009
By J. Ball
Format:Audio CD
I imagine this band will draw comparisons with Ida Maria due to their up-tempo tunes and slightly edgy sound, however, the only comparison that can be made between the two is nationality.

This is a valiant debut and contains all the right ingredients for a floaty summer relaxation session in the garden in the midst of summer. Unfortunately it lacks punch. The melodies are soft, the drums are up tempo and the vocals sound like the love child of Sia and Natalie Imbruglia. This album is definitely worth a listen if you like alternative pop like The Cardigans or Belle and Sebastian or even Vampire Weekend (not alternative pop). The single Run is excellent and hopefully something the band can capitalise on in their next album. Unfortunately it all gets a bit samey and boring after a while. I gave this album 4 stars to even the review rating to 3 and a half!

Give it a listen but don't expect it to change your life.
