Product Description

A young man is abducted and mutilated for talking out of turn, and a policeman is murdered as a result – all in a day’s work for Danny O’Neill, Scotland’s most notorious gangster.
Meanwhile, small-time drug dealer and shop worker Davie Argyle has just crossed O’Neill’s path. Davie has been waiting a long time for this. He needs to swallow his pride and convince O’Neill to trust him. Thing is, can he stay alive long enough for his plan to work?
Torture, murder, rock n roll and bloody revenge ensue as pasts unfurl and long-held secrets reveal themselves.
In many ways, it was only a matter of time until it all kicked off...

Thriller Of The Month on www.e-thriller.com “...following firmly in the footsteps of the pioneers of ‘Tartan Noir’ trail blazed by Ian Rankin and his erstwhile detective John Rebus, Peter Carroll takes us away from the prim and proper streets of the capital Edinburgh and takes us instead to the mean streets of Glasgow. Recommended and riveting reading from a relatively new author."

By ER
Format:Kindle Edition
Downloaded this book to my I Pad. Not really my preferred subject but the summary looked interesting. I was quickly drawn into the plot and found I was eagarly turning each page as the plot unraveled. Excellent use of language and I thoroughly enjoyed the story line. I look forward to the next piece of work from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Many Ways - A Must Read 19 Sep 2011
By mon123
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have just completed In Many Ways and felt compelled to write my first ever review on an e-book. This book had it all - gritty, realistic, with believable, if not always likeable, characters, set in Glasgow. The subject matter could have been a tad depressing but for the humour interspersed through the story. Extremely well written début novel - I eagerly await the author's next offering.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Many Ways - Peter Carroll 22 Sep 2011
By Dawn
Format:Kindle Edition
I found In Many Ways to be an excellent read, and not just because it is the author's first novel. The characters are very well described and the plot keeps you guessing while still being very plausible. For anyone who enjoys thrillers, this is a must buy. I am very much looking forward to the author's next offering.

Loved this book - a fantastic thriller with twists and turns and the language used gave maximum impact. If you've ever been to Glasgow you'll really appreciate the dialect he uses. A real page turner that I couldn't put down - looking forward to the next one :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable on a number of levels 12 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I discovered `In Many Ways' by complete chance in Kindle Bookstore.
It proved to be thoroughly enjoyable on at least three levels including 1) as a thriller with some real depth;2) because of the author's entertainingly clever and often amusing use of language; and, 3)for the person like me who has had more than a nodding acquaintance with Glasgow (there as a student), as a reminder of formative days long past.
I look forward to reading the author's next book Pandora's Pitbull.
