With her own delightful illustrations, this is an interesting tale of the author's own experiences, some shared with her husband, of living in a typical mountain village with various Cypriot families. She confirms the laid back attitude to life and the difficulties she had to overcome in trying to instill any sense of urgency into the Cypriot workmen when things went wrong. She obviously enjoyed herself though as she describes her reluctance when she had to eventually leave the island.
