5.0 out of 5 stars Budgie's finest moment 1 Nov 2009
Format:Audio CD
This is a great and underrated album, in many ways their most consistant effort. Drummer Pete Boot's only Budgie album and he is a great drummer gelling well with Burke Shelley and Tony Bourge's monstrous guitar assault. It also has my favourite Budgie tune Living on your own which is a fantastic soulful metal epic. Budgie should have been huge as they wrote intelligent songs delivered with humour and superb musianship. Wales' finest

3.0 out of 5 stars Heavy Rock of Gorigori 20 April 2006
By mm
Format:Audio CD
It is the fourth work of '74 year announcement and "Budgie". The drum has alternated from "Ray Philips" to "Pete Boot" in this work. The member alternation seems to have succeeded because it has brought the sound the thickness and weight drumming alternatively. Feeling that pulls music is very comfortable, and it listens to a heavy lock of Gorigori with the sea weed to know the jar of a very heavy bass drum in this work though the drum is light, and the rhythm also receives the impression that it is monotonous by one, and music is smooth in "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" of the former work now. Especially, the effect appears remarkably in the first album title tune "In For The Kill" and the fifth "Hammer and Tongs", and their most important works. I feel the thickness of the sound thin compared with other tunes though former "Ray Philips" seems to beat the drum in this album only as for the second "Crash Course in Brain Surgery". There is no difference in the perfection of music, and the stability is another .."Black Sabbath".. ..all tunes.. it is possible to do of .."Budgie".. music though there is a sense of security good quality though often compared with "Black Sabbath" ¥¥¥ Feeling is received. However, I can feel their significance of existences because it has completed a heavy lock of "Budgie" style different from "Black Sabbath" in this first work. I want to put up five stars or more about this tune.
