Product Description

The year is 1928.

Demetri Davos discovers a mysterious crystal ball that has the power to grant him anything he asks.

But power always comes with a price.

And after two selfish requests result in the death of innocent people, Demetri resolves never to use the globe again.

When the Nazis begin their march across France, though, the desperate half Jewish Demetri is forced into a life-or-death decision - and has to break his vow to make his escape.

Years later in Chicago, he is rich and happily married – but a vengeful nemesis, aware of the globe’s power, now wants what he’s owed.

He’ll stop at nothing to get it.

With his family in peril, Demetri is forced to pay for his past … and for wishes granted … time after time … after time …

From Europe to America, across the years, Phil Locascio’s ‘In His Hands’ traces one good man’s struggle to combat his own inadequacies and resist overwhelming temptation in a deadly moral tug of war.

'A fantastical, thought-provoking page turner.' - Robert Foster, best-selling author of The Lunar Code.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unusual but exciting 15 April 2013
In His Hands is an unusual book, the plot is something I have never read before and it intrigued me from the start. There is an orb which can grant you any wish you want, but for everything you gain something else will be taken away. The book is well written and plot flows seamlessly from one point to another. From the start the book is set up as a mystery, what is this mysterious orb and what has Demetri done that means his old partner wants vengeance against him. Slowly the book reveals all. With the orb always present, preying on the desires of those who touch it. I highly recommend this book; it is a fast paced read which you can easily get caught up in. The book almost like the orb, absorbs you until you finish, you just can't stop reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars A dark and compelling tale 19 April 2013
Demetri is a man with a mysterious orb, one that can grant whoever holds it their deepest desires. However there is a price to pay in order to gain what you want. For Demetri after causing the deaths of others he tries to put it away and forget it. But he cannot protect those he loves and when his wife wishes upon the orb things start to go wrong. His ex-partner is desperate for vengeance and for the orb to grant him what he once had. The book is dark in places, but well written and easy to read. In some ways it can be seen as an almost `aesop' style fable where the moral is `be careful what you wish for'. The book is a thrilling read and definitely worth £2.99.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story teller 25 May 2013
By Jerome Pampinella - Published on
From begining to end the author had me. He weaves a great tale. I felt that I knew each character personally. You find yourself feeling sympathy for all involved. Even the villain. I would not change a word in it. Phil LoCascio is a great new author on the market. I hope to see more of his works soon.
