DREAM LOVER

Damian St. Giles has woken up before with a sore head from imbibing too much mead, but finding himself naked and shackled to a bed is an entirely new experience. As if in a dream, a flame-haired enchantress appears and offers him a brew to ease his pain…and enflame his desire. He soon realizes this Highland beauty has given him a potent aphrodisiac and she is fully prepared to take all his body has to offer…

TRUE DESIRE

Lady Aithinne Ogilvie knows she must treat this man as nothing more than a stud, for that is what he is to her…a means to get her with child and thus produce an heir who will save her inheritance from ruthless Scottish warriors and greedy King Edward. Yet she cannot deny the instant bond she feels for this handsome stranger—and the feeling that it will be the prisoner in her bed who will end up laying claim to her heart.

captive/captor romance.”—Romantic Times

Well worth the wait! 12 Sep 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Deborah MacGillivray introduced us to Damian St. Giles in A Restless Knight. Who was that delicious man who disappeared, leaving us sorely enticed? Now we find out where he's been. In Her Bed isn't a sequel to A Restless Knight since both books take place simultaneously. Hey, and we thought Tamlyn and Julian had issues. Ha! Just imagine the blow to Damian's ego when he finds out Lady Aithinne Oglivie has used him for stud service.

Aithinne is desperate to secure the future of her holdings, and to do that, she must produce an heir. She sends her twin brothers and her protector to procur a good specimen. Damian, drugged and spelled by Oona, can't believe his good luck when he's seduced by the woman whose image he's loved for years. He thought, at first, it was the Lady Tamlyn, but even though he's a bit miffed at his treatment, he finds Aithinne even more irresistable. Lady Aithinne, on the other hand, isn't the slightest bit interested in having any man claim her or her lands. And she's not at all amused when Damian tells her that King Edward has granted her lands to him.

Let Ms. MacGillivray take you on a journey through sensuality, betrayal, and true love. In Her Bed is the second book in MacGillivray's Dragons of Challon series, but can be read as a standalone just as well. (I don't know why anyone would want to miss the first book, though.)

For a true page-turner, I highly recommend Aithinne and Damian's rocky road to true love.

Damian St. Giles covets his cousins betrothed beauty, Tamlyn. At the Beltane party Damian drowns his sorrows in imbibing in too much mead, as well as a special brew provided by triplet brothers. Waking up shackled to a bed is not so bad when the beauty Damian craves is right beside of him, touching and caressing his naked body. The brothers did promise the special brew would make all of his dreams come true....

Princess Aithinne Ogilvie must find a way to keep Lyonglen out of the hands of men that want the land for their greedy selves. The only way she can come up with is to give birth to a bairn, but the only problem, was that Aithinne was not married or even betrothed. Stealing a man for breeding purposes seems a little extreme, but what other choices are there? When a spell is woven between Aithinne and Damian and the first night of intercourse takes place, there is no turning back. Both lives will either flourish or the spell will cause more lies that will be added to the turmoil that is Aithinne's life.

She wants to keep Damian, but his heart lies with another. Can he come to love Aithinne as much as he loves her own cousin? What is yet to come of Lyonglen and the bairn Aithinne so desires?

Deborah MacGillivray enchants the reader with her historical romance In Her Bed. The characters were described beautifully and easily came to life before my eyes. It is so rare to see a lady take charge in a historical by making the first move on a man, but I found it endearing. This book brought warmth on a cold day with the heated love making scenes and the blossoming love between the characters; and don't forget the twists! I would highly recommend you get your own copy today and curl up with this wonderfully written book. 5 Hearts

Having read and enjoyed the first book of this series, 'A Restless Knight', I was looking forward to a companion piece that was going to flesh out the relationship that had been suggested between Damian and Aithinne.
It started out well, filling in the details of Damian's experiences while he was missing in book #1, but after this initial interest it became clear that the plot of "In Her Bed" intersected so much with the second half of "A Restless Knight" that I found myself re-reading passages that had been literally copied verbatim from one book to another.
Conversations had in Restless Knight took place all over again in this book, just from a fractionally different viewpoint and I was left with the impression that you could have read either book and had a satisfactory experience, but reading them both together you discover there's really only enough story to fill about a book and a quarter rather than a rather repetative two.
The relationship between Damian and Aithinne, while being based on some generally well-written sex, is not as compelling or well-crafted as I had hoped, and while Damian's obsession with Tamlyn from book #1 added a touch of emotional dynamic it never really felt properly resolved. With all the repeated scenes that were pasted in from the first novel it left me with the impression that the contents of "In Her Bed" could have been included in a much more tightly edited version of Restless Knight as a very compelling sub-plot. It just didn't contain enough new material to fill its own novel.

That said, it was well-written on the most part and, if you haven't read Restless Knight, I'm fairly sure it makes a satisfying read on its own. You just probably shouldn't read the pair of them black-to-back as I did or you may find yourself skimming rather a lot of repeated scenes.
