La Roux--the red haired one--steps up to claim her thrown as the new pop princess with the release of "In For The Kill". Her dynamic combination of vulnerable emotive lyrics, snaking off-kilter synths and killer hooks are fast becoming her trademark sound and continue to mark her out in a class of her own. First single "Quicksand", the club smash ignited a fire of interest in the newcomer. Accompanied by a hyper real video (directed by Kinga Burza), which sees Elly taking inspiration from her hometown Brixton, "In For The Kill" harks back to La Roux's synth pop heroes whilst staying utterly fresh, modern and beguiling.

Rating stands only for the b-side, Skream's remix. The La Roux song is a piece of functional, if uninspiring, sub-Eurythmics elecropop; the Let's Get Ravey remix, on the other hand, is Song of the Year material. Minimal, sparse, bass-heavy and.. incredible.

WHAT A FABULOUS CATCHY SONG IT COULD HAVE EASILY COME OUT IN THE 1980S BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PLAY IT IN THE CAR YOU WILL WANT IT SO LOUD YOU MIGHT END UP BLOWING UP THE SPEAKERS GO ON BUY IT.

Great
Heard this song on the radio for ages and was just so glad to actually get the CD from somewhere as everywhere else was unavailable. Also the album is quite good too.
