Nemesea are a young rock band from Groningen in the remote north of Holland who have already achieved a remarkable first in rock history: they are the first artists anywhere to have an album financed via crowdsourcing at internet platform www.sellaband.com. Amazingly it took only 10 weeks from the time they joined the site for music fans from over 40 countries to invest the target recording budget of $50,000. This has created great interest and was covered in a variety of publications from Billboard to The Financial Times and Wired, and with the help of press agencies such as Reuters, AFP and ANP the story was picked up on websites and blogs all around the world. This resulting album was recorded at legendary Dutch rock facility Studio Spitsbergen (Focus, Solution, Weekend At Waikiki). During preproduction the band worked with Ronald Molendilk (DJ, Soulvation), while recording was overseen by producer Tony Platt (AC/DC, Bob Marley). The finished album was mixed by Ronald Prent (Rammstein, Kane) at Galaxy Studios and was also mastered there by Darcy Proper (R.E.M, Porcupine Tree). The result is a huge leap forward for the band both technically and musically - guitarist Hendrik Jan de Jong and singer Manda Ophuis who write all the bands music describe their sound as female fronted rock, with influences ranging from Lacuna Coil and Depeche Mode to Kelly Clarkson. Plans for 2008 are built around solid touring with new manager David Arden and AT Bookings setting up club tours in Benelux, Germany, the UK and Scandinavia. Tracks: No More / In Control / Home / The Way I Feel (featuring Cubworld) / Lost Inside / Remember / Believe / Like The Air / Broken / Never.
