There was a problem with delivery - I think there was, and that the person delivering it did not use the door knocker (as the bell is broken). It was certainly considerably delayed, which was very inconvenient, as I use it for teaching.

I am an esl student of english in Brazil.
I can't help disagreeing with "Esol Teacher in LatAm" about the book.
This is a very good book.
I have no doubts about that.
But, I see what Esol Teacher means.
This book is not intended for everyone.
It's not an ordinary english book like many others out there.
However, just because it is different it doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad book.
I have a class, in the company I work for, in which we use this book.
Everyone there loves the book.
Yes, of course, It has a lot of fill-in exercises, but it has a lot of vocabulary, functional expressions, phrasal verbs, and so on.
I've learned I lot from this book, that's why I feel compelled to write this review.
Besides this class, I have also a private class at my home on Sundays.
When my private teacher saw this book he instantly fell in love with it.
In fact, I am here to buy this book for him.
This book is amazing.
It does a good job on teaching business english.
But I think it is intended for really upper intermediate students with some previous background, especially thouses who have studying habits.
Might put you in a tight spot if you are a teacher 18 Nov 2010

I have been teaching languages (English and Spanish) for over 8 years and have been lucky enough to have gone through many ESOL books. This one here (Incompany Student's Book 2nd Ed) is the first one that got me to write a review. I am a bit unhappy with this latest edition of Mark Powell. LOTS of fill-in-the-blank exercises that have little value as a learning exercise and with no answer key at the end (they are online), so you will spend quite some time decoding the text. Case in point page 14 ( Exercise 3) Page 40 ( exercise 5) Page 46 ( exercise 3)...and so on. What was MacMillan thinking? Saving ink? Other than that the listening exercises and fluency building tasks are OK.

Bottom Line: 1 star given and I will think twice about using this book in my English Classes.
