My [...]son was learning about castles at school so I wanted to have a book which gave some back up to school but in a relaxed manor. The pictures are brightly coloured and nicely drawn for young children. The text and the story were quite simple but they got the main points across effectively. This book did catch the interest of my son who is not a "book" person. I would recommend this book.

'In the Castle' is a lovely book for young children. Clear bright pictures with a simple informative explanation of life in and around a castle. My three-year-old tear-away grandson loves this series of books and loves the Benji Davies illustrations. Lots of interesting things to look at and discuss. He similarly loves 'On the Moon' and 'On a Pirate Ship'. All the books in this series have solid, padded, hard covers and quality thick pages inside. We initially borrowed the books from the Library, but he loved these three titles so much I bought them. Bargain prices from Amazon and free postage to boot. Delivered within two days of the order being placed.

Beautiful book 30 May 2009
By DaniBgz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
My 2 1/2 year old loves this book. We read it every night. I was happy to find a slightly informative book about castles, rather than another story book. The pictures are colorful and interesting and the amount of text is perfect. Enough to be interesting, but not so much that he becomes bored and turns the page before I can finish reading to him. The feel of the book is also nice and has held up to lots and lots of use!

Great book for the little knights 9 Dec 2009
By N. Romano - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
We have read this book about thousand times. It is great to have a book about knights that is more than just about fighting. It shows what the life was like in the castles, creating an interesting impression about that time period. It is clear, cute and absolutely perfect for my 2.5 year old.

Perfect introduction to knights and castles for toddlers 4 Jan 2011
By Amanda D - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great book for introducing the idea of knights and castles to toddlers. There is a bit of violence involved when the enemies attempt to attack the castle, but it is handled well and no one gets hurt (they just run away). It has been a big hit with my 2 and 1/2 year old son.
