Have you ever had the experience where you go to Tesco and come back £50lighter and without what you went for??? I had a fantastic memory and thensuffered a massive illness that lodged in a key area of my brain, so badthe Doctors thought it was Multiple Schlerosis. I was given my life backwhen they found their diagnosis incorrect. Why do I tell you this?
Itleft my memory in tatters, unable to hold my own in meetings, unable to domy job, having to change careers and a huge blow to self esteem havingprided myself on memory beforehand. I ran multi-million pound projects andhad the plan and my own and my team's diaries in my head!
I had triedmemory techniques from far and wide and none made much difference in thelong run. I had the good fortune to come across David's superb book justbefore I had resigned myself to giving up. Oh yeah another memory champ -just what I need. I picked up the book, bought it and read it ... andremembered what I had read even now 7 months after reading it I can tellyou the XYZ of the exercises and various other bits of info. Later I madeit a goal to meet David and tell him what an impact he made on my life. Ihave found him to walk his talk, he is a kind, humble, genuine and honestindividual who wrote this book as a contribution to personal development. The book is well written, easy to read and applicable to everyone who canread or have it read to them. I have given his book as gifts and willcontinue to do so for a long time to come.

Brilliant 12 Mar 2004
Format:Paperback
Davis Thomas practices what he teaches. Like most Dorling Kindersley books, it's well laid out, easy to read and has lots and LOTS of colour.

And, there's the trick, the book is designed to use many of the 14 brain skills both logical and creative, so making the subject matter immediately more appealing, and more memorable!

For such a small book it covers a great deal of ground; structure and workings of the brain; how to develop your brain potential; simple techniques to train the brain; and some realistic applications that bring the techniques to life.

The book is short, but packed with information. I guess you could read the whole book in a couple of hours, but, the books' structure lends itself to dipping in for a quick read and I now always carry it in my bag.

No wonder it's a best seller.
