As a painter I am impressed by the quality of reproduction and the integrity of the colour.The commentary is well researched and informative. An all together beautiful edition.I was given it as a Birthday present by my Horticulturist husband.Juliette.

This accompanied a fantastic exhibition (Scottish National Gallery) last summer, so when I look at the reproduced pictures I am reminded of originals - they are fabulously reproduced, and such a wide variety of them. The colours are so true. Pictures by Monet, Morisot, Klimt, Bonnard, Lavery - and more - and more! 97 pictures, a short piece about them in the main text, and much more about them in an appendix - and explanatory text running through the book. This has kept me warm through the winter! I love it.
