4.0 out of 5 stars Great analog results once you get the hang of a little digital editing 26 Nov 2013

I am a huge fan of instant and analog film, so thanks to a post on Uncrate I decided to give this a try (I know, kind of an expensive impulse purchase). I received the lab SUPER quick thanks to my Prime account. My first impression - great package design, most creatives will agree little things such as packaging goes a long way to brand loyalty.

Once I charged the internal battery, I ran 3 packs of PX70 film through the Instant Lab. I was happy with about 90% of the resulting prints. I shoot portraits so learning to pre-edit your digital file is key. For portraits, I tend to reduce the contrast as much as possible (turning whites to an almost grey tint) increase saturation to just where it becomes like a bad spray tan. Once the edited image is uploaded to my iPhone I select the preset from the Impossible Project App then follow the app direction. Once you get the hang of editing you will be much happier with this resulting print, especially since a pack of film runs about $24.00 for 8 images.

My biggest issue with the Instant lab is the build quality. The instant lab feels a little cheap and I still have my doubts on how many years (or months) this unit will last for. I have to say I have not had any issues myself but I tend to be extremely cautious due to all the lightweight plastic used in this product.

All in all, I am very happy and pleasantly surprised by TIP. I totally recommend the instant lab for those photographers looking to reconnect with analog while not giving up the flexibility of digital editing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Instant Print take 25 mins to print....... NOT SO INSTANT 1 May 2014
By MISS L BELCHER - Published on Amazon.com
We ordered the Instant Lab print because it was instant, after 5 trial runs we had no images, it takes 35 mins for the image to appear, not so instant, we have returned the item.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've been looking for a great way to be redundant 3 Oct 2013
By TCaplan - Published on Amazon.com
I like pictures. Like, really, really like pictures. So, when I found out that I can take a photo with my iPhone, send to FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, Pintrest, Imgur, AND a Polaroid,... Well, dunk me in caramel and call me Santa. I blew my entire unemployment insurance check on this bad boy, and now I'm able to take a photo while I take a photo.

10/10 would recommend to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars I would only advise purchasing this item thru Amazon. 18 May 2014
By Joseph S. Vogt - Published on Amazon.com
I purchased this item thru the Impossible Projects website. The item received has an issue that crimps ever print. After dealing many times with the support line, I cleaned the item as instructed. However, this has not solved the issue. Their support response is horrible at best and after 6 weeks I'm still dealing with their subpar service.

In the end, do not buy from them.
