Product Description

Becoming a vampire is easy. Living with the condition... that's the hard part.

Join Alyssa as she stumbles through the world of the "Unnatural" in the first three books in the Immortalis series.

Book 1: Immortalis Carpe Noctem
Rescued from a brutal mugging on the college campus of UNLV, 25 year old Alyssa is initiated into a frightening, eternally dark world she never knew existed. The world of the vampire.

Stricken with cravings of blood, and forced leave behind all she knew, Alyssa struggles with the change. And Lysander, her sexy but aloof sire, is the only one who can help guide her.

There's no turning back now. It's either, Carpe Noctem, or final death.

Book 2: Hunters & Prey
Rule number one: humans and vampires don't co-exist.

One is the hunter and one is the prey. Simple, right? Not for newly-turned vampire Alyssa. A surprise confrontation with Santino Vitale, the Acta Sanctorum's most fearsome hunter, sends her fleeing back to the world she once knew, and Fallon, the human friend she's missed more than anything.

Now she has some explaining to do. However, that will have to wait. With the Acta Sanctorum hot on their heels, staying alive is more important than educating a human on the finer points of bloodlust.

Book 3: Pandora's Box
After a few months as a vampire, Alyssa thought she'd learned all she needed to know about the supernatural world. But her confidence is shattered by the delivery of a mysterious package - a Pandora's Box.

Seemingly innocuous, the box is in reality an ancient prison, generated by a magic more powerful than anyone in her clan has ever known. But what manner of evil could need such force to contain it?

When the box is opened, the sinister creature within is released, and only supernatural blood will satiate its thirst. The clan soon learns how it feels when the hunter becomes the hunted.

Doctor's Notes Review 6 May 2012

The cover on this book was so pretty. The vampire looked so fierce and ready for action. The colors were so vibrant and jumped out at you too. For a major cover lover like me it was great to see. This book was an omnibus of the first three books in this series which are Immortalis Carpe Noctem, Hunter's and Prey and Pandora's Box.

In the first book we meet Alyssa who is enjoying a night out as a normal UNLV student. She leaves a coffeeshop and is unfortunealy attacked and pretty much left for dead until Lysander steps in. We learn that Lysander is a vampire and he turns Alyssa. Alyssa spends most of the first part of this book learning how to deal with being a vampire. In learning more we learn more about Lysander and how he became a vampire. Lysander tells Alyssa about Kallisto who was his maker. I have to say I love the way the author stated vampires came about. I am a hge mythology freak and this twist was awesome. The story continues and we learn about the Pereganeus clan and I loved them also. They just all seemed like such as great group and really considered themselves family. Eventually there is a battle between Alyssa,Lysander and the clan to take down Kallisto. The book wraps up with Kallisto defeated but the vampires still in danger. This leads us into the next book.

In the next story called Hunter's and Prey. In this book we learn more about the Acta Sanctorum and one of it's main hunters Santino. Santino made an apperance in the first story but is more prominent in this book.I liked that this book showed more of Alyssa and Lysander's relationship building and their amazing chemistry. I really started to fall for them and root for everything to turn our right for them. I also love that we learned that Santino wasn't all bad and we got to see his vunerable side. We also got to see more of Alyssa and Fallon in this story. I liked that the author showed how true their friendship really was and that it could withstand anything. Fallon was still there for her no matter what like a true friend should be. It was also great having the banter between Fallon and the vampires too. I also liked that the author was able to show what Lysander thought was impossible in that vampires could get along with humans and Alyssa didn't have to give up everything she once knew.

After this we had the final book in this omnibus which was Pandora's Box. I loved this book the best ot of the three as I love the Pandora's box tale anyway from my love of mythology. I loved the athors retelling of this tale. It was amazing to see just how easily a human could be tempted into opening the box after seeing it through the eyes of Fallon. She truly couldn't resist it. The opening of this box causes some major twists and the plot that I truly didn't see coming. I was shocked and amazed by it. In this book the clan sets out to find out who sent them this box and how to recontain the evil that was released. It turns out the evil that wa trapped in this box was the first vampire. In the clan's travels they are lead to a new location and meet some other vampires and some werewolves. I loved how in this book the vampires and werewolves all worked together. We again got some amazing backstory about the vampires orgin and learned more about the first vampire. I liked seeing the budding romance between Fallon and Aiden. I was happy to see her getting a chance at love without having to give up her humanity. Alyssa again showed how much she had grown and how powerful she could be. I also liked seeing Santino again and seeing him evolve and come into his own. The love between Alyssa and Lysander was even better in this book as I felt he really started to see her as more of his equal. I felt my heart break at the end of this book though with the way it ended. It was a cliffhanger that I didn't see coming and was a great lead in for the next book.
Immortalis Omnibus Edition 27 Mar 2012
By BookReader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I discovered the Immortalis series after looking for something to read after finishing the Night Huntress Series by Jeanine Frost.

I picked up the Omnibus Edition and finished all three books in a day and a half. Without spoilers here are my pros and cons.

Pros:

1. Lysander, he reminds me of a mix between Bones and Jericho Z. Barrons.

2. Alyssa, she sweet and likeable, but does not kowtow under pressure and sticks to her guns.

3. The plot and the mythos of the creations of vampires and their lifestyle. Very original.

4. The supporting characters were all well developed and served a purpose.

Cons:

1. The cliffhanger ending at the finish of book three.

Overall, I have really enjoyed this series and am glad to see that book 4 will be out in a couple of weeks.
