Amazon.co.uk Review

Readers expecting something special from this first hardback Buffy novel won't be disappointed. The regular pairing of Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder has produced an excellent story that pits Buffy against an immortal vampire.

Whenever she is staked, Veronique's personality returns in the body of the next vampire to rise in her vicinity. This immortality is a gift from the Triumvirate, a powerful evil created from the joining of three lesser demons. Veronique has spent centuries trying to bring them into this world, and now she has almost succeeded. Her arrival in Sunnydale triggers a spate of deaths, disappearances and grave robbings as she prepares for the final ritual.

As if this is not enough for Buffy to contend with, her mother is seriously ill, and faces an operation. Angel tries to support her, but his own eternal youth seems to mock her as she faces up not only to the possibility of losing her mother but also to her heightened awareness of the short life expectancy of Slayers. The juxtaposition of these two storylines creates an effective emotional resonance that gives this scary, and in places gruesome, novel depth as well as excitement. --Liz Sourbut --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

I am a huge enthusiast of these two very talented authors, and I am never disappionted by their works. With `Immortal` you are in for a gripping time the moment you turn the pages, All your favourite characters battling towards another Apocolypse, fighting the seemingly unkillable Vampire Veronique who is a most formidable opponent for the Slayer and her friends. The Vampire Veronique serves the pure demon, the Truimvirate and wishes to unleash the demon upon the earth...chaos and battles a plenty ensue. Slayers past and present (and Watchers!) form an integral part of this gripping, if a little gory at times, thrill ride! Highly recommended, you will not be able to put this book down..

GREAT STORY 24 Jan 2001

Format:Audio Cassette
This book took me a while to read through, but in general it was great. It focuses on how Buffy has to cope with her family problems, i.e. her mum and her duty as a slayer. Veronique is a powerful vampire. It would be cool if she was in the TV series.

This book has to be one of the best i have read because once put in front of an imortal vampire secrets from other slayers, angels, and the vampires story come into light. With her mum sick she has to worry about mum and her duty as slayer which also brings into light her relationship with angel, she will live long or die young, he will live forever. great book found it hard to put down.

one of the good, non adult ones - nice
the best Buffy books are usually the adult ones but this one stands the road. It's a Faith-in-prison / Willow wicca / Angel in L.A. crossover one. Read more
