Product Description

You're young, free and single and haven't had sex for the last eleven and a half months, then one morning you wake up pregnant, and here is the Angel Gabriel on your doorstep claiming parentage. In Oliver Lansley's "Immaculate", things quickly spiral into farcical confusion with no fewer than three more potential fathers claiming parentage, one of them an ex-boyfriend, one of them a nerdish contemporary from school that you wouldn't want to be seen dead with, and the third being Satan himself. "Immaculate" was first seen at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival, and is now embarking on an extensive tour including two dates in London.

Format:Paperback
This has to be one of Oliver Lansley's greatest plays to date. A hilariously funny tale of religion and relationships 'Immaculate' allows its audience /reader to laugh uncontrolably, at the expense of an unexplanable situation that is Mia's Immaculate conception. A fantastic play not to be missed by modern comedy lovers everywhere.

The play is toe-curling in tone, dull and predictable in content. I can read a play with coarse language, i'm not a total prude, but you'd get more profound dialogue on a night bus. It's not nearly as theatrical in form as it could be. I'm sad to say I'm disappointed.

How strange! 15 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
How strange to come upon a play with a title and concept that both seem, in my inexpert opinion, to be extraordinarily like Stella Duffy's 'Immaculate Conceit', which is a brilliant book and play, and which I liked much better than this. I'd recommend reading that instead of this, frankly.
