Unfortunately the demo micro switch appears to have been wired the wrong way round. Removal of the plastic insulator actually put the car in demo mode which stopped the car's wheels from moving. Have taken it apart and fixed the insulator in place to resolve. Looked on the web and there are a number of cases like this. Other review states it doesn't much so I assume that one was also faulty. When fixed the engine starts (as in demo) but will then rev, followed by it shooting across the floor about 3 meters.
