We have two stray cats that seem to have acquired our surname at the vets and had in the past borrowed a neighbours carrier. However one cat is large and we had trouble squashing him in through the front opening. When stray no. 2 arrived we thought we would buy our own carrier and looked round for a large one with a top opener. It proved impossible to find one in the pet shops and supermarkets so I tried Amazon and found this one. It comes in other colours as well.
When it arrived we had to put in some grey plastic gismos to hold the handles on and the top lid shut which was easy enough. You then have to put 4 grey plastic catches on the front to hold the grill in place and these were EXTREMELY difficult to insert.
However when it was done it was great. It was easy to lower the reluctant patient in through the top and close the top opener before he realized what had happened. When he came home he could run easily from the front grill door. It is also roomy enough for our larger cat and feels very solid, although I did hold the box underneath as well as by the handles.
Altogether a really good design that is difficult to find.

I needed a smallish carrier because my car is a 2-seater, and this one fits neatly on the passenger seat while the seat belt goes through the handles.
Getting puss inside is a breeze since he can be scooped up and popped in the top before he's realised what's happening. When we're done I just let him out of the front.
The carrier is solidly constructed with a good deep base for a towel or blanket. Everyone asks where I got it since they can see how well thought out it is, plus it looks great as well.
The only negative is that the assembly instructions which come with the carrier are useless - you're better-off ignoring them and working it out for yourself. The clips which hold in the wire screen are a bit tricky to insert, but with a bit of wiggling it can be done.
All in, a fantastic product which takes the grief out of an unpleasant task.

I love this carrier. I haven't tried others as it's my first cat but it certainly looks much better than those in the shops. It appears a bit bigger as well. The design is stylish and the plastic is easy clean with no nooks and crannies. The Green colour is fab - it's slightly irridescent so it looks a lot better than the picture. We are currently also using this as a sleeping house for the kitten and it does a fine job.
I agree with the other reviewer that the plastic levers for the door are difficult to put on but just keep pushing them into the holes with a twisting motion and you'll eventually do it.
