It's Ok....,

Scary? No. Predictable? A little. Did I guess the ending in the first 2 minutes? As good as. A pretty good film with good intentions that don't really get carried off. A good twist at the end, and well worth watching if just for the mothers hair (is it a wig?!). It is in the style of "I Know What You Did Last Summer", so if you liked that you'd probably like this. But if you are a hardcore horror/suspense fan, you will be a little disappointed. One for the more easily scared really. Perhaps my expectations were a little high - I was hoping for something along the lines of Scream, The Gift, Lost Souls, What Lies Beneath... a real "make you jump out of your seat and scream" film, but it doesn't quite cut it. A B-movie with good intentions.

Hooked on Sex,

Fast pacing and fine acting make this low budget version of the classic campfire tale of "the Hook" really worth a look. What appears to be a straight forward story of hormonally charged teenagers attacked by a maniac at their make out spot is actually a richly textured morality tale riddled with undertones of incest, betrayal and infidelity. The subtle allusions to TV and movie classics of the past are fun to look for and hard to spot. Like a lot of films in this genre, half the fun is guessing who the killer is and this film really throws in several great twists. Lovers Lane was also instrumental in making the careers of several of the actors involved, like Anna Faris who went on to star in "Scary Movie I & II", as well as Billy O'Sullivan who was then cast in "Wakin Up In Reno" with Billy Bob Thornton and Charlize Theron. There's also some great music including a track by rising R&B singer Colin Peacock. So what if it doesn't have some of the glossy effects of Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer - this movie makes up for it on guts and raw energy. Definitely something that should be on a collectors shelves if for no other reason that to see the "first" movie of some future stars.

This was an average horror movie at best. Although only from 1999, it felt much older in terms of camera quality, etc. All i can really say is that its average. The story just lacked a compelling punch to take it over the edge. The cast and acting was ok, but not that interesting. The music was boring. The story is ok, but also lacking punch. And so it goes.

I didn't really like this movie at all, it's a slasher with very lame kill scenes, a lame story , horrible acting. The only thing that improves the movie was the last couple of minutes with the twist on the identity of the killer or killers but other than that stay away. No scene selections and no special features. There's another thing i would love to note is that the dvd cover makes no sense at all why is there a SCREAM ghostface mask on the cover, the killer never wore that mask, but don't be tricked its nothing like SCREAM movies.
