Cliff's 1980 album "I'm No Hero" is a true classic and one of Cliff's best albums of all time. The reason is simple: great songs, great vocals, great production! Cliff and Alan Tarney capitalize on catchy hooks and creamy vocals. Cliff's sound is crystal-clear, rocking, passionnate and aching. He is exuberant on "Give A Little Bit More", luscious on "Here (So Doggone Blue)" to soul-baring on "Dreamin", "Anything That I Can Do" and "Take Another Look" and heart-wrenching ("A Heart Will Break"...Cliff sounds so hurt on this. Hauntingly beautiful throughout, but especially on "In The Night" and "Everyman" - sensual! The title track is particularly catchy but still faithful to the album's soulful groove. There are just NO fillers and NO weak songs on this. This is consistent! Alan Tarney on bass and Trevor Spencer on drums are great. This album is definitely one of Cliff's finest performances and this is probably Cliff's best album of the 1980s. Alan Tarney (who basically wrote practically all of this, not to mention the classic "We Don't Talk Anymore" is incredibly talented. The bonus track "Keep On Looking", the b-side of "A Little In Love", is as good as anything on the album and sees Cliff singing at the top of his range. Buy this and see for yourself just HOW good Cliff is and also you have GOT to see him live!
