I think this is really good. When you take over a garden, there are so many plants you don't know anything about, and this book helps you to identify them from the photographs and tells you all you need to know.
I wouldn't be parted from my copy, and I'm buying them for all the other gardeners in the family.

Excellent reference 27 Jan. 2004

Format: Paperback
I'm a novice fan of gardening and a plant inspector. This was one of the first references I purchased when I became an inspector a little over a year ago, and I have found it to be nearly indispensible, as it is fairly comprehensive and its size allows me to take it into the field. Some of my colleagues who have been inspecting plants for 20 years sometimes ask to borrow them! My only complaint is many of the flowering plants common in this climate (north of 45°) are not covered or are given scant mention. Overall, though, very useful!
