I bought this for my daughter, who absolutely loves Oliver Twist and wanted to discover more about other Charles Dickens stories. I hunted around for a childrens book rather than the original version and this was perfect. It has most of the Charles Dickens stories, but edited in such a way that children can read them on their own and the illustrations to match are also good. The book is hardbacked, but cushioned. It gives the impression to younger ones of having a very special book to read and keep forever.

My 8yo loves this book. It isn't a big hardback but instead a handheld (say 8x6 inches approx) hardback book she can read in bed while laying back (in other words, not so heavy, big, and unweilding you have to bend over to read it like some large hardbacks). This simplifies the stories into readable understandable and colourful tales for those under 10's. Very pleased. Also purchased Shakespeare.
