For a former "police Officer" to have written this is laughible.
First, he needed to do research on the "departmental issued BLACK Glock 32 cal. handgun". This was in Chapter 8.
There is no such gun in Glock's line. There is however a Glock 357 cal. Model 32, (4 generations) COMPLETELY different!
GLOCK makes NO 32 cals. at all!!! Why no research?
Also, every character and I mean every character, their clothes were all described in GREAT DETAIL as to their colors. Each and everytime! Here are a few examples. When he got dress that morning for work he wore black pants, white shirt with a blue tie. And he would reach into his right hip pocket of his tan slacks and get out his BLACK Motorola flip phone. He would reach for his BLACK Glock from his side leather holster. Everything was described. He went outside to get into his white Crown vic. His Lt. arrived in his silver Crown Vic.
REALLY, did we need such unnecessary details??
Who cares what color the phone is or the color of the guns and cars unless it fits into the evidence!! Which none did!
This was probably done to take up pages, make the story longer.
I was/am very dissapointed in this book and will probably not read anything else by this author.
