Although the band were down to one original member at this point (Andy Powell) they managed to come up with by far their finest effort since their 70s heyday. Criminally overlooked by both critics and punters, this album is stuffed with brilliantly inventive classic rock from start to finish. It's an essential purchase.

I'll try to put this review in context, I first saw Wishbone while I was a student in about 1970 at about the time of their first album release and I've been on the journey with them buying everything released ever since, through the greatness of Argus and the Live Dates LPs and their less powerful period in the later part of the eighties. Illuminations is a stunning return to form up their with their best work. The searing guitar work that I've always loved is back but here its linked with intelligent, adult writing to produce an album I've listened to again and again. Strongly recommended.

This is a superb album from Powell's Wishbone Ash.

Regrettably, this recording failed to receive the kudos it deserved but its fair to say that this is one of the strongest WA albums since their Seventies heyday.

The song writing is strong, the vocals great and the musicianship - as always - brilliant.

A terrific collection of songs.

Having been a Wishbone Ash fan from their early days I lost touch with them for a few years during the nineties and early noughties.I hit upon this album by chance and love it.Although the line has changed many times since the 70's , they remain unique and can still produce some great tunes and excellent guitar playing .

I wasn't sure about this album for the first couple of listens and then I confess it sat on my shelf collecting dust for several years. Then I decided to give is a spin on the spur of the moment and I really enjoyed it. After that I've revisited it plenty of times.
It's got alot to offer- give it a chance.
