Product Description

Product Description

Fruity, sweet and light with a mild taste of olives. Ideal for salad dressings, grilled fish, white meat, sauces, pasta and vegetables.

PDO stands for Protected Designation of Origin. It's a geographical indication, part of the protected geographical status legal framework defined by European Union legislation, and it covers agricultural products and foodstuffs which are produced, processed and prepared in a given geographical area using recognised know-how. The purpose of the law is to protect the reputation of the regional foods and eliminate the unfair competition and misleading of consumers by non-genuine products, which may be of inferior quality or of different flavour.

Strong kalamata taste of this olive oil. Smells and tastes fresh and 'grass-green', a bit like green fields/fresh cut hay. Little bit of pepper after taste. Very good to be used on freshly cooked pasta (al dente!), salads, grilled fish, etc.
The tins are reasonable easy to handle, the pourer is easy to use and almost non-leaky.

The only thing is that Amazon not always packages this olive oil tins properly, so you receive them dented. :-(

The oil arrived quickly and as I used to live in Greece I knew it would be good quality. The price was fine and the pourer on the tin is easy to use. Willl buy it again.

Iliada is a brand name from Agrovim, but the important thing is the type of olives and where they've been grown. Koroneiki olives from Kalamata have been used to create a really light olive oil that doesn't have the harshness of cheaper varieties. It's a very light, slick oil with a slight peppery after-taste.

It's very low in acid content, as well as containing next to no cholesterol making this both tasty and a relatively healthy fat (but, it is still fat - so 9000 calories per 1 litre tin).

This is ideal for use in salads, or other areas where you use uncooked olive oil.

This is a really nice oil, and is good enough to dip bread as well as cook. If you like a more bitter oil, then maybe not for you, but if its a rounded, fruity flavour your after, then this is a good place to start for the price.

I've been using this for cooking and I love the taste! My partner even noticed how tasty the bread is when I cooked it with a little bit of this olive oil. Also, used this for as a hair mask. After using this once a week, my hair is definitely much more healthier. It helps a lot with dry ends too! Buy it! You won't be disappointed :)

The oil is the same colour as the packaging, isn't greasy and tastes great. I've purchased some of their own olives as I'm that impressed. My only issue is whether I choose to buy the 5 litre tin next time and save a but more cash in the long run...
