Yourcodenameis:Milo have drawn comparisons with acts as diverse as Joy Division, Fugazi, Radiohead and Mars Volta and their Flood-produced album justifies all of this. These five extremely creative young men have made an uncompromising album that is clear from the opening bars of "I Am Connecting Flight", through to the live favourite "Schteeve" and the single, "17".

'Ignoto' is the debut album from British hardcore outfit Your Codename Is Milo. A mix of cutting guitars and pounding drums, the album sees the band favourably being compared to Shellac, Fugazi, and The Mars Volta. The single '17' is also included.

Without doubt the best album i have bought in some time. Before I go any further, I will outline that I have listened to this album about 30 times in the last week. Thats probably comparable with the life time of listenings to many of other cds I have bought in a while.

This is the sort of album whereby you listen to it, and one song pops out (Rapt. Dept), then you listen again and another one pops out (Schteeeve) and some more listens down the line a few more seem to have some great hooks and your not sure which one you cant get out of your head at any one time(Team Radar, Fivefour and Yesterday Head). And then, a week later, someone tells you that one of the other songs is the best song. And guess what (17) it probably is!

Maybe its this feeling of discovery that makes me buy albums...

Ignoto is a complex collusion of some seriously inventive musician ship. Think down the same lines as Oceansize and Vex Red for the sound, but perhaps Biffy Clyro for creativity. Only its different. There are so many hooks and catchy bits that you wont be able to resist fondling the rewind button just to experience it over again.

If you have bought any of the albums from the bands I list, or that Amazon recommends on this page, then you WILL love this album. If you like creative albums or 'growers' or just fancy something a bit dark and rocky without going to far in any direction, you will enjoy this. For some reason I find it emotional in parts, in the same way listening to Deftones or watching The Crow has done in the past, but then that might just be me.

Will this album go down in history? Maybe. Will this be a long-term favourite of mine, definately!

I discovered YCNI:M quite by accident through internet surfing and then picking up their EP from last year, All Roads Lead to Fault. Since then, I've been hooked! The boys debut CD is much more melodic than the EP, but no less compelling lyrically. Juxaposed guitarwork and rhythm sections make this CD stand out in a BIG way from other current music fluff being released of late. Fans of Biffy Clyro, Hell is for Heroes and Oceansize will probably enjoy this album (and YCNI:M fans are rejoicing all over the place!!). Best tracks include(IMHO), "17", "Schteeve", "Team Radar" and "The General". The Radiohead-esque closer, "Audition/Unfinished Drawings of Cats" is absolutely hypnotic! Great release from a great new UK band. Check them out live as they are absolutely MANIC!

Yourcodenameis:Milo's album "ignoto" is incredible,wheter its 17 which is by far the best song on the album and definetely has one of the best videos ive ever seen. rapt.dept.a song which was better because of its strangely good lyrics and catchy chorus. the only song that comes close to beating it is titan grip which has an almost perfect chorus and a great ending. i thought really the only letdown was audition/unfinished drawings of cats which was a bit like u boat by kasabian with an annoying silence in the middle.this band definetely have talent which they have used to their full potential, kerrang voted them best british newcomer and gave this album kkkk's, i mean a band that can play in a old people's home get's my vote, definetely a band to look out for in 2005. they supported the used replaqcing head automatica.also check out all road to fault the mini album is good too.
