Okay, I bought the autographed cd with early arrival from ChaseRice dot com and Ride from his Itunes party edition. The party edition only available through Itunes has the additional songs, Party Up w/ Colt Ford (from ep Ready Set Roll), Country in Ya (from ep Ready Set Roll), Best Beers of Our Lives (from ep Ready Set Roll), Ride (new) along with a 6 minute CR247 video for 12.99. (Ep Ready Set Roll was released in 2013).
That said.. . This album is GREAT!!! I wasn't sure how he could top Dirt Road Communion, but he did it! This first mainstream commercial album is a great mix of new and old material. Ready Set Roll, Look At My Truck, How She Rolls, Jack Daniels & Jesus and Whoa; are all previously released on different eps. Is this an album of "bro-country" in my opinion No. Why? You ask, because while some songs can fall under that heading (Ready Set Roll, Do It Like This, U Turn & Mmm Girl (borderline), How She Rolls, WHOA (bonus track if you buy the cd.)), most do not! Beer With the Boys is about being in a relationship that's more important than hanging out all night. Carolina Can is about family and the things that remind us of who we are no matter how far we go in life. 50 Shades of Crazy...I would say think of a more grown up version of Brantley Gilbert's My Kinda Crazy, with drums and guitar driving the beat (You put your hands on me I put my hands on you). What's Your Name is one of those songs that for me ...it defies a label. You listen and just want to hit repeat again and again.
This is an album well worth it's cost! Well written and produced with a mix of songs that can take you happily on a road trip with this one cd. It can take you from dance floor to date with a simple track change. I really enjoyed every song on this cd. Your on the fence wondering what established artist is he most like... none. But he can easily stand in the presence and fair very favorably with artist like Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan. His voice and style is distinctive, but highly addictive.
I could not have asked for a better first cd. Congratulations Mr. Rice, 5 Stars!
