I have evaluated many 'banking applications' and I have found in iBank 4, what I have been looking for.
1. Setting up individual bank accounts is simplicity itself all the way through to choosing how to connect to your bank. I like the look of the pages too.
2. Connecting to your bank and downloading your statement is straight forward. No technical issues and brings in all the information required to keep track of what spending took place.
3. Reporting is excellent. If you have the time you can collate effective reports but their standard ones are fine to start with.
4. I downloaded the iPhone application but because I was in a hurry, I could not make an immediate connection with the desktop. For me I wanted this to be an easier experience but it requires a little more working out than other applications with iPhone integration. Hence the 4 stars!

I switched to iBank after crossing the great divide back to the Mac world. To massive relief, iBank imported all my Quicken data, so nothing to re-input. The layout is similar, the register looks like an American cheque book but the categories all made sense for me (categories are used to categorise expenditure types, useful for doing tax returns). Best of all, the support for iBank is really very good. Have no fear with this one, it's not overly huge or complicated but you could run a small business on it.

Great product - just like Quicken on pc. Transferring data took a bit of effort to get right, but once the data is in, it works well. Cover flow is neat, but doesn't add a lot. Be sure to set account types when you first set up or transfer - they can't be changed later.
The iPhone/iPad app is OK, but sync seems unstable, and tricky to set up - when it works its fine.

No longer using it
I imported from MS Money and used it for a few weeks. I didn't like it. The reporting tools were very limited. I ended up buying Parallels just so I could use Money on my MacBook. Read more
