5.0 out of 5 stars Read this, please 22 Sep 2007
As someone who is now just 15 weeks along the hardest journey I have ever made, I ask you all to read this. I wish I had enough money to buy it for everyone I know.

When someone dies it leaves a massive void and we all tend to walk around trying to avoid it. It's hard to know what to say, let alone what to do. This book is full of really upfront advise and responses from the bereaved. The main message I got from reading it was that the well intentioned "Call me anytime if I can help" is hopeless. This book offers much better alternatives and left me feeling empowered to help.
We'll need to read this book at sometime because it makes a bad situation, better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great guide for a difficult time 6 Sep 2007
By OngWorm
As a friend it is sometimes hard to know how to go about helping someone whose life has been devestated. We don't find it easy to express our grief, understanding or support for someone who has been bereaved. As a society, its as if we have forgotten how to just be there for someone.

This book is wonderful. Its a really good, very well set out and understandable, guide to knowing what will actually help a friend or relative during a horrible time in their life. It doesn't take some grand guesture or a lot of your time. Its the little things we can do which can make a real difference.

It great to have a practical guide to what we can do, or say, to help our loved ones in their lowest time.
