I'll always love this band; they came from Lymington and played a wild mix of southern Hoedown with a punk riff in a kind of Pogues style. At the time of this album release they were in their heyday. They played at the Marquee and the Beggars banquet; they played support for the levellers on a number of occasions.
This Album is a great selection of tracks this cult band were packing live venues with at that time. Best tracks include "gold against the sole", and "southern life" not forgetting the bands trademark track (which had me 'slamdanceing' at the Brixton Academy I can tell you!)" banjo hill. Don't make the mistake of not buying this you'll only regret it when you can't find a copy any more....you have been warned!

Very much a live band, so don't go looking for crisp harmonies and clean melodies. But served loud, live and in company this is an unbeatable band to go bok with (I remember seeing them wiping the stage with a supposedly much bigger band who they were supporting in Southampton). The album captures a lot of energy and has _most_ of the greats - although I would have liked to hear "Stomping through Siberia" again.

A Customer is right about the lack of availability, but you can still download and purchase the album if you look hard enough... I know this because I have just done so!
