This story had all the makings of a great storyline; the music industry, PR talent agency and starting your own business. Unfortunately the story slightly flat. The key characters Brent and Charisse had amazing chemistry but the story did not capitalize on it. While I love these two together you never got the sense that the relationship ever developed. One minute they were business partners, the next they were in love; it happened a bit too soon. I never had the opportunity to take the journey with them that I craved since I loved these two together.
A few things I noticed, You never understood why her friend Shelby really left her high and dry and we did not get to enjoy the R&B group rise to fame. The most puzzling was how Brent was able to afford a private jet if he was a struggling artist agent. I look forward to an improved showing on the author's next story.

I loved this book!!! The female character is a strong woman and it's nice to see that in a romance novel. I loved Brent Thatcher he was a great male character in every way!!! I usually don't review books but I had to for this one. There are many surprises in this book that I never even thought would be in it. For once a book I can completely relate to reality. That is one of the reasons I love Michelle Monkou's books. Her female characters that pursue what they want in life and they never give up on their dreams no matter what obstacle is in their way!!!!! This is a must read!!!

This book is truly a must read. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Once I started reading "If I Had You" it was real hard for me to put it down. I carried by e-reader everywhere so I could continue to read this story whenever I had an opportunity. Brent and Charisse's storyline kept me reading until I finished the book in a day and half. I truly enjoy this story.
