Crochet for the 21st century--finally!!! 30 Sep 2006
By S. Pape - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover

It was great to see crochet enter the 21st century! This is a collection of really fun garments that belie the conception thatcrochet has to be stodgy and old fashioned. Sassy little tops, very wearable shawls, a gorgeous wedding tunic - many designs I want to make. Crochet garments don't have to be clunky, and this is the theme of this book. I love the youtthful look of many of the projects. Garments are from several of the top designers: Doris Chan, Nancy Nehring, Tammy Hildebrand, Margaret Hubert --and thank goodness, there are not any granny squares or ripple designs here! My favorite is a spectacular necklace crocheted with thin copper wire with beads added.

Huge collection of stylish patterns 31 Oct 2008
By H. Stoddard - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This book has a much larger number of patterns than most crochet books I have seen. There is a wide variety of beautiful and stylish projects and some interesting techniques. In variety, style and quantity of patterns this is one of the best books available to crocheters.

New Ideas and and Interesting Spin on a few Older Fashions 9 Nov 2006
By M. A. Wornock - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Lots of good pictures make it difficult to decide which garment to start on first. Something for a variety of fashion tastes. If all the yarns aren't available in your area, it's a little difficult to figure out a good substitute on some patterns. Instructions seem clear.

Bought this for 1 pattern only,. ended up making 3! 30 Oct 2010

I really only bought this book for the green swimming suit which is on the front cover but was pleasantly surprised to see that I also liked another 2 patterns which I intend to crochet when I am on vacation soon.

The book is dated and ... oh dear, hasn't modelling changed (for the better)!!! But the patterns are still totally relevant.

There is an interested and varied selection of yarns which nicely add to the variety of these 35 patterns. There are no repeats, you are truly getting 35 different garments and looks.

Thank you.

I love to crochet and have tons of crochet cotton so I have been looking for books specific to that and I like to crochet feminine clothing, not the bulky kind. This is a great book and will keep me busy for a couple of weeks.
