3.0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Fooled by the Cover 6 Feb 2012
By PJS
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
If you enjoy embroidery on paper and are a card maker like me, you'll probably look at the cover of this book and think 'Oh, lots of borders - exactly what I'm looking for!' And if you do, you'll probably be disappointed. Not only are most of the patterns in the book not set up to work as borders, there are even a few which require use of separately purchased brass pricking templates.

I decided to keep the book because I have the software and skills to transform some of the patterns into borders, but I was disappointed.

A great range of patterns with good illustrations .Confusingly some of the cards illustrated did not have a pattern but referred to a template,OK if you have the template but no information on where to get it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Card embroidery 23 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
Excellent designs and excellent ideas combining several crafts which inspired me to try different techniques. Sometimes a bit difficult to find which template is being referred to on a few designs.
