Just plug it in, turn on the button and up you go.
Plug in your HDD or SSD and it works like a charm.
What an awesome little product. Small, convenient, great looking and without software installation.
All OS's recognize the device and I love it.

Further to the other customer's comments, I was also sent the wrong power adaptor as the connector would not fit in the docking station. Amazon sent me a new and correct parcel the very next day, which makes up for their mistake! I was then asked to post the faulty parcel back to them within 30 days.
The device performs as it should, build is good, looks nice and is stable.
I am using it with Windows 7 and a 1 TB disc as a DIY NAS & Windows Media Server. The device was a simple plug and play without any issues. The reason I bought this as opposed to another NAS is that in the past 2 different NASs that have killed my disks solely due to over heating when the disc is used extensively. But at least in this docking station the entire disc is exposed and once the disc heats up, it cools down pretty quick!
The device performs as it should, build is good, looks nice and is stable.

Needed to get something like this - I do have cables to connect internal drives to USB port, but this just makes it so much more tidier than hanging expensive drives down from the usb port on your PC!
Obviously the bigger the drive & the more data you are transferring over USB, the more time it takes to copy files over, but thats a limitation of USB 2.0 - not of this docking station.
Can thoroughly recommend - it really is as simple of turning it on, inserting your drive & appears in "My Computer" as a drive letter. the "Apple" design also helps, making it look good as an permanent additon to your workstation or desk!
If you have any reasons or need to copy data off internal drives on a regular basis, I would recommend you buy this - every PC technician should have one!

Great product.
It does what it says on the box, also looks good next to my Mac. I found the blue LED a bit too bright, so I partly covered it. I tried it with both 3.5" and 2.5" HDDs, works fine.

Does not work
Not a lot to say really, simply does not work, couldn't access hard drives placed in the dock. Returned for a refund.

Dangerous
Didn't work for me. I plugged my hard drive in and within seconds there was a bad smell of burning. Sparks started flying and I suspect that was the end of the hard drive. Read more

Only detects SOME drives.
Well, I just recently received this and frankly I'm quite disappointed.
