I've grown up listening to Motown and classic soul, so was thrilled to find this item. However upon reading up on certain acts, I found that some of the information was wrong. For example it states that "Ronnie White of The Temptations brought Stevie Wonder to Berry Gordys attention." Ronnie white was actually a member of The Miracles.
If I hadn't have previously researched the history of Black popular music, I'd probably have enjoyed this more. I've come across quite a few mistakes,and to read about acts such as Dusty Springfield and the Isley brothers, who I haven't reasearched about, it's hard to take everything in, as i'm not 100% as to whether the information is correct or not. This along with some spelling errors, at a hefty £95 which I paid for it, it's hard not to feel hard done by
