Product Description

Made-for-television adaptation of the Frederick Forsyth thriller, starring Patrick Swayze as ex-CIA agent Jason Monk. Set loose in the unforgiving world of the Eastern Block, Monk has to track down dangerous right-wing Russian extremist Igor Komarov (Patrick Bergin) and prevent him from carrying out his so-called 'Black Manifesto', a deadly plan to release biological weapons to cause mass panic and enable Komarov to seize the presidency.

Like all Frederick Forsyth's novels "Icon" has made the move to film well.

This is a great action TV movie and as such is a little long at 166 minutes. But there is much to keep you watching.

As usual Patrick Swayze puts in a good performance as the hero as an Ex CIA agent. Supported well by Michael York (who always plays the perfect English man). I was impressed by Annika Peterson.

This film has a touch of real life - things in it could happen.

A good buy.

I found this DVD by chance, having never heard of it. I was very moved and impressed by this movie. I like Patrick Swayze and it was good to see him in an action packed thriller as an ex -CIA agent called back to solve suspicious terrorist activity in a post cold war Russia. Based on the book of the same title by Frederick Forsythe, the writing is crisp and very believable. It is filled with suspense and keeps you on the edge, at the same time allows you a glimpse into the workings of government agencies during and after the cold war's. Quite a chilling thought to know that something like this can happen for real. This movie is good on a lot of levels. If you like action thrillers , or you are a fan of Patrick Swayze, Michael York, Patrick Bergin or Ben Cross, you will love this movie.
